How to make a secure FotoAlbum with a rescue function
- Start up FotoSaver or, if it is already running,
close the current FotoAlbum.
- Select the menu item File >> New FotoAlbum
- Click on the radio button Yes for Password
Protection - this will enlarge the dialog and
show new options
- Either enter a password yourself, or, press the
Suggest Password button to get a random password.
You can modify the random password.
- Enter the email address to which the password would
be sent if the need arises - the rescue function.
- Press the OK button.
- In the dialog now displayed, select the folder into
which you wish this FotoAlbum file to reside and the
name of this new FotoAlbum and then press the Create
button - an empty FotoAlbum will be created
- A dialog is displayed asking whether you wish to
import photos/images into this FotoAlbum. Press the
Yes button
- A dialog is now displayed that is similar to Windows
Explorer - select the drive and folder that contains
the files to be imported. Note that a camera is simply
another "disk drive" to Windows.
- Press the List Photos button. This will show
all the files that can be imported. If you had selected
an entire disk drive, for example, this process can
take some time as many thousands of files and folders
would need to be considered.
- Press the Import photos button. If there
are a large number of photos, this can take some time.
- Press the Done button and the FotoAlbum will
display the imported photos.
Note
The rescue function means that the password is
kept by FotoSaver.com. When anyone who has a copy
of the FotoAlbum attempts to open it, he/she is
asked whether they wish the password to be sent
to the email address specified when the FotoAlbum
was created. Clearly, the security of the password
is dependent on who has access to that email account.
